The GlowOrb is a single pixel output device, great for showing the status of something. Powered by USB and WiFi connected, you send it a colour (in HTML hex format) and it shows that colour.
You can control it via MQTT or HTTP. Each GlowOrb has a comprehensive instruction page (accessed through the URL on the base of the GlowOrb) which includes a drag-and-drop code example for Node-RED, MQTT connection details, and an HTTP request example.
The GlowOrb is 40x40x40mm, has a 3D printed base and a ping-pong ball diffuser on top. Power is supplied through a micro-USB connector (cable not supplied).
The GlowOrb connects to WiFi using WPA2 authentication, and hosts its own wireless access point for easy initial configuration onto your WiFi.
This is the GlowOrb
classic: there are also the
Squorb variants available here on the MarketPlace.
